Lochner Attends APTA Legislative Conference and COMTO’s Celebrating Women Who Move the Nation Event in Washington, D.C.

This past week, Lochner team members traveled to Washington, D.C. to attend two prominent transportation industry events: the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) Legislative Conference and the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO) 14th Annual Celebrating Women Who Move the Nation Awards Breakfast.

APTA Legislative Conference

The APTA Legislative Conference serves as a platform for public transportation professionals to engage with federal legislators and policymakers. The conference focuses on educating attendees about significant federal legislation and policy initiatives, providing an opportunity to influence the industry’s positions and advocacy agenda.

Gary Thomas, Lochner’s National Transit & Rail Market Director and former APTA Board Chair (2011–2012), participated in discussions alongside current and past APTA Board Chairs, emphasizing Lochner’s ongoing leadership and contributions in shaping national transit policies.

COMTO’s Celebrating Women Who Move the Nation

COMTO hosted its 14th Annual Women Who Move the Nation Awards Breakfast at the Smithsonian American Art Museum & National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C. This event honors women who have made significant contributions to the transportation industry. To date, COMTO has recognized 152 women for their exceptional leadership and commitment to advancing the nation’s infrastructure.

As a COMTO National Sponsor, Lochner was acknowledged among industry partners at the event. Representing Lochner were Marvin Thomas, Second Vice President of the Washington COMTO Chapter and Lochner’s Washington State Area Lead, and Taiwo Jaiyeoba, National Director of BRT & Transit Planning. Marvin’s extensive involvement with COMTO, including previous leadership roles in the Boston and Denver chapters, highlights his dedication to fostering opportunity for all within the transportation sector.

Lochner is proud to support and participate in events that promote leadership, advocacy, and innovation in transportation.
