Sound Transit’s North Corridor Lynnwood Link is an extension of the light rail system from Northgate in King County to Lynnwood in Snohomish County. The project consists of designing 8.5 miles of track and four light rail stations. The extension will give riders fast, frequent and reliable connections through some of the worst traffic congestion in Washington State between Snohomish County and the University of Washington, downtown Seattle, Sea-Tac Airport and more.

Our team led Communications System Design and Civil/Systems Integration for this project. The scope of services included extending the train control system, wire and cable systems. Communications systems include close circuit television system (CCTV), digital information display system, and the emergency telephone/passenger emergency telephone and public branch exchange system. The access control system, public access system, building management system, and fare collection network elements, as well as, and the communications systems interfaces to the four new light rail stations are encompassed within the scope of work. We also monitored and managed the civil/systems integration process and is responsible for developing contract submittals defining interfaces, design responsibilities, equipment lists and interface design checklists.
