
Justice Newland, PE Brings Together Transportation Leaders at ASHE Pittsburgh Ask a Leader Event
In celebration of International Women in Engineering Day, we’re proud to highlight Traffic Engineer Justice Newland, PE, for her exceptional leadership in organizing and moderating the Ask a Leader event hosted by the American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE) Pittsburgh Section Young Member Committee.
The event attracted a record 82 attendees and united some of the region’s top transportation leaders for an evening filled with insight, mentorship, and meaningful connections. Justice, who also serves as a Board Member for ASHE Pittsburgh, led the initiative from vision to execution, delivering a standout experience for young professionals in the industry.
“Justice recognizes the importance of a strong professional network and has been intentional in building meaningful industry relationships. This event highlighted her efforts, connecting established leaders with emerging ASHE members. She demonstrated outstanding leadership in both planning and facilitation,” said Kelly Rigot-Gargan, PE, PTOE, Senior Traffic Engineer.
Leaders from the Allegheny County Airport Authority, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), and the PA Turnpike Commission shared insights during the event. Their discussions offered valuable perspectives on the future of transportation in the region. Justice was instrumental in bringing these influential voices together, building strong professional relationships and curating a meaningful experience for attendees.
