VTrans Park & Ride Locations

Lochner provided complete engineering and landscape design services for both new and improvements to existing VTrans park and ride facilities. Enhancements have included bus shelters for safe transfer to public transportation, electrical vehicle (EV) charging stations, and bicycle racks. Projects include:

Richmond Park & Ride Expansion: Increased capacity to 159 spaces to meet overflow demand. Also developed an innovative bus turnaround, installed new LED lighting, and integrated stormwater mitigation measures.

Royalton Park & Ride Facility: Designed a new 91-space facility incorporating efficient stormwater treatment, new lighting, and EV charging stations. Employed extensive utility pole coordination to facilitate new service while avoiding site conflicts.

Berlin Park & Ride Facility Expansion: Expanded the facility from 76 to 110 spaces, widened roadways, upgraded traffic signals, and implemented stormwater mitigation. Engaged in multiple public hearings and property owner visits to provide temporary offsite parking during construction.

Sharon Welcome Center Improvements: Designed parking lot resurfacing, ADA upgrades, and repairs to curbing. Detailed traffic management planning and phasing were critical to maintaining operations at the facility.
