Andy Lohan Presents at the Virtual IDOT Bridge Seminar
Andy Lohan, a structural engineer in Lochner’s Chicago office, will be presenting at the 2020 Virtual Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) Bridge Seminar hosted by the American Council of Engineering Companies of Illinois (ACEC IL).
On Thursday, October 1st, at 12:15 p.m., Andy and fellow panelist Michael Haas from Collins Engineers will discuss the design and erection of the Mile Long Bridge’s main steel span. Located in Cook County, Illinois, the existing Mile Long Bridge is a 4,933-foot-long dual structure that carries the Tri-State Tollway over rail corridors, road facilities, utilities, waterways, navigable channels, and commercial activity. The reconstruction will widen the bridge to include an additional main line lane and flex lane. As part of a joint venture, Lochner developed the project master plan in the first phase and led the production of final plans, specifications, and estimates in the second phase.
On Wednesday, October 7th, at 12:30 p.m., Andy will present again on the widening of Fairview Road in Orange County, California. The Fairview bridge is part of improvements to 16 miles of the San Diego Freeway (I-405). Lochner, as a member of a joint venture, is leading the design for two sub-segments between SR 73 and Ward Street.
On both projects, Andy was responsible for the structural analysis and production of plans. To learn more about the conference and register, visit https://cvent.me/kM8nkz.
