Pittsburgh Office Raises Nearly $5000 for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
Lochner’s Pittsburgh office hosted its second annual fundraiser for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), a non-profit dedicated to “[curing] leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and [improving] the quality of life of patients and their families.” Held in March 2020 just prior to widespread COVID-19 social distancing measures, the fundraiser at TopGolf Pittsburgh was attended by 150 people including Lochner employees, clients, teaming partners, and friends. Through donations, the event raised $4,904 for LLS, including $750 provided by Lochner Cares.
Chris West, a project manager in the Lochner Pittsburgh office, said, “Our first fundraiser for LLS last year was so successful that we decided to make it an annual event in honor of my sister-in-law, Dani Cavanaugh. She passed away in December 2018 after a seven-year battle with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, and anything we can do to help fund research and find a cure means a lot to me; my wife, Toni; and my daughter, Allie.”
Founded in 1949, the organization offers education and support to patients and their families, has invested nearly $1.3 billion in blood cancer research, and pioneered many innovative approaches.
