Lochner’s Tallahassee office donated meals for the Christmas holiday to Grace Mission, a local non-profit ministry that offers academic support to elementary students through the S.O.A.R. After-School Program. In December, our Tallahassee employees purchased enough groceries to make seven holiday dinners and delivered them to Grace Mission in hand-decorated boxes. Each box included a turkey of up to 15 pounds, two boxes of instant mashed potatoes and stuffing mix, four cans of green beans or corn, one jar of turkey gravy, one box of butter, one can of cranberry sauce, and one pumpkin pie. Grace Mission then distributed these boxes to the students and families of the S.O.A.R. program.
Lauren Squillacote, an entry-level engineer from our Lochner’s Tallahassee office, said, “Every year, our office volunteers for a local charity around the holidays, and when I saw Grace Mission’s call for help on Facebook, I knew it was the perfect opportunity for us to give back safely. Grace Mission is right in the heart of Tallahassee, and they do so much to help our community. In addition to the Christmas boxes that Lochner donated, I partnered with the local ASCE chapter to help fill stockings with toys. These also went to the S.O.A.R. kids and their siblings. Grace Mission was thrilled to have the extra help.”
In addition to after-school support, Grace Mission provides hot meals, clothing, counseling, and laundry and personal hygiene services to those in need.
