Zillah Street Pedestrian and Street Safety (PASS) Project Honored with APWA Award

Lochner’s Tallahassee team recently attended the 17th Annual Big Bend Branch APWA Awards Banquet, where the City of Tallahassee’s Zillah Street Pedestrian and Street Safety (PASS) Project won the Transportation Project Award in the $2 million to $5 million category. Located in Leon County, the project enhanced pedestrian safety along Zillah Street, improved access to Fairview Middle School, and provided multiuse path connectivity between Tram Road and Paul Russell Road.

As the selected designer under a continuing services contract, Lochner supported key upgrades, including roadway and drainage improvements, new sidewalks, landscaping, signage, and crosswalk enhancements. The project also involved construction phasing plans, new water main design, and extensive coordination with the City, County, and other community stakeholders.

Congratulations to the City of Tallahassee and the entire project team on this well-deserved recognition!
