Milestones and Momentum: A Legacy of Partnership at Ardmore
Lochner’s National Aviation Practice recently joined the Ardmore Development Authority to celebrate a major milestone at Ardmore Municipal Airport (ADM) in Ardmore, Oklahoma—the completion of Taxiway Echo (Phase II) and a Medium Intensity Approach Lighting System (MALSR) with Runway Alignment Indicator Lights project.
Phase II of the Taxiway Echo program marks the latest step in a multi-year effort to provide a full-length parallel taxiway supporting ADM’s primary Runway 13-31. The first phase provided access to Runway 13, and this second phase extends access to Runway 31. Construction included more than 4,100 feet of 75-foot-wide concrete pavement with 30-foot asphalt shoulders, designed to accommodate cargo aircraft up to the size of a Boeing 767. Future phases will complete the full parallel taxiway by connecting the first two segments.
The MALSR project originated in 2015 when flooding from the Washita River washed away the Runway Alignment Indicator Lights (RAIL) portion of the system. As the river continued to shift, Lochner designed a bridge spanning the Washita River to provide long-term access for maintenance.
Beyond the ribbon-cutting, this milestone reflects more than 15 years of partnership, progress, and shared vision between Lochner and the Ardmore community. As Engineer of Record for both Ardmore Municipal and Ardmore Downtown Executive Airports, Lochner continues to advance aviation infrastructure that supports economic growth and regional connectivity.
