Lochner Receives APTA Excellence in Inclusive Collaboration Award

The Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority (PSTA), Lochner, and Jones Worley were honored with the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) Excellence in Inclusive Collaboration award for their work on the SunRunner Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project. This award was presented to the team’s leadership at the recent APTA TRANSform conference in Anaheim, California.

To celebrate, Lochner’s Gary Thomas and Taiwo Jaiyeoba traveled to our Tampa office, where they joined Brad Miller from PSTA, Cynthia Jones Parks from Jones Worley, and the rest of Lochner’s project team for a special event. The 10-mile SunRunner BRT system design project, awarded to Lochner in 2018, opened in 2022 after 20 years of planning. Through close collaboration among PSTA, Jones Worley, and additional partners, the team completed design and construction in under four years—a remarkable achievement for such a large-scale transit project.
