Oklahoma City Office Makes Meals for Kids
As part of Lochner’s Giving Back Initiative, employees throughout the firm participate in an annual group service project that benefits the local communities in which they live, work, and play. This week, we are featuring the volunteer efforts of our Oklahoma City office at the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma, the largest hunger relief organization in the state. On August 22, 2019, Lochner’s Oklahoma City employees packed boxed macaroni and cheese, bananas, granola and protein bars, applesauce, pudding cups, and juice boxes into backpacks as part of the Food for Kids Backpack program. At the end of two hours, our Oklahoma City staff had prepared 2,790 meals for children to take home and eat over the weekend.
The Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma serves 53 central and western Oklahoma counties and is a member of Feeding America, a nationwide network of food banks. In their most recent fiscal year, the Regional Food Bank distributed more than 49.7 million pounds of food through their network of nearly 1,300 community-based partner agencies.
