Utica Office Serves Meals to the Community
As part of Lochner’s Giving Back Initiative, employees throughout the firm participate in an annual group service project that benefits the local communities in which they live, work, and play. This week, we are featuring the volunteer efforts of our Utica, New York office at Mother Marianne’s West Side Kitchen (MMWSK), a non-profit that serves food to those in need. On April 6, 2019, the Utica office prepared and served 92 lunches—42 hot meals of pancakes, sausage, bacon, and hash browns and 50 bagged lunches of cold cut sandwiches, fruit, chips, and cookies. Bread, bagels, coffee, tea, and juice were also provided. Once all the meals were served, our employees then cleaned the MMWSK’s kitchen.
The Utica office also held a food drive in conjunction with volunteering. In addition to soliciting donations from our employees, the Utica office has asked tenants in their office building to participate. At the end of the drive, our employees had collected 11 boxes of food weighing approximately 165 pounds total. All food was donated to MMWSK.
MMWSK was founded in 2008 and serves between 70 and 125 meals per day to people of all ages.
