- Bridge Design
The Taylor Street Bridge over I-495 was due for a replacement as part of an interstate improvement initiative. Lochner replaced the aging five-span structure with a new 300-foot, two-span design, improving driver safety with enhanced sight lines. The project team assessed multiple value-engineering options and added architectural finishes for a refined appearance. Facing a tight deadline, the team progressed from sketch plans to 90% design in under two months, successfully addressing the project’s challenges.
