I-80 Will Project Achieves Key Milestones

Lochner, in partnership with Bowman Consulting, is providing Construction Corridor Management Services for the Illinois Department of Transportation’s (IDOT) $1.3 billion project to reconstruct and widen 16 miles of I-80 through Will County, including the upgrade of over 30 bridges.

As the project nears the end of its second year, significant progress has been made. The Wheeler Avenue and Shepley Road bridges have been successfully rebuilt, River Road is open, and Briggs Street is now substantially complete. Looking ahead, 2025 will mark the start of the next phase with multi-year projects dedicated to reconstructing 11 miles of mainline interstate highway.

We’re proud to partner with IDOT, the engineering teams, and contractors on this critical project. Together, we’re making significant strides on this transformative initiative, and we’re excited to continue enhancing the I-80 corridor for the communities it serves!
