Tallahassee Office Sorts Meals for Kids
As part of Lochner’s Giving Back Initiative, employees throughout the firm participate in an annual group service project that benefits the local communities in which they live, work, and play. This week, we are featuring the volunteer efforts of our Tallahassee office at Second Harvest of Big Bend, which provides food to 11 counties in Florida’s Big Bend region. On August 23, 2019, Lochner’s Tallahassee employees sorted milk, protein, fruits, vegetables, and grains into backpacks to be sent to nearby schools. The schools distribute the bags on Fridays to help feed children who might not otherwise have access to food over the weekends. Together, our staff worked efficiently to fill 2,250 backpacks and had time left over to sort donated food for disaster relief in the event of a flood, tornado, or hurricane.
Founded in 1982, Second Harvest of Big Bend is partnered with 135 distribution agencies in Florida and is a member of Feeding America, a nationwide network of food banks.
