Tyler Office Packs Meals for Local Children in Need

Looking forward to the firm’s 75th year anniversary in 2019, Lochner offices are celebrating throughout 2018 by giving back to their local communities through a service activity of their choosing. This week, we are featuring the efforts of our Tyler, Texas office. Employees volunteered at the East Texas Food Bank by packing meals for their Backpack Program. This program benefits local school-aged children who participate in free and reduced meal programs during the week, but may face hunger on the weekends. Employees filled boxes with nutritious, easy-to-make meals that were then provided to local schools to distribute in backpacks to kids in need. More than 182,900 backpacks were distributed during the 2016-2017 school year, ultimately serving over 6,300 children in east Texas.
