Michael Latham Receives IRWA Award

Michael Latham, Managing Broker of Lochner’s Austin Right of Way team, was selected as Employee of the Year by the International Right of Way Association (IRWA) Chapter 74 this past December. The Employee of the Year is awarded to IRWA members who have demonstrated exemplary support of the association. Candidates for this award are evaluated based on their outstanding contributions to their chapter in a leadership role, completion of specified education courses and activities, participation in regional activities, and achieving IRWA professional designations.

Michael has been a member of the IRWA since 2006 and has been serving as Co-Chair on Chapter 74’s Program Committee for the past two years. Michael is well-known with IRWA members and right of way professionals throughout the Austin community for his exceptional court hearing coordination, which lends to his exemplary performance as Program Co-Chair, earning him the nomination and award this year.

The IRWA is a not-for profit organization established by real estate practitioners in 1934. The IRWA is a source of right of way professional services and educational programs for professionals that acquire, manage and transfer land rights needed for building and maintaining transportation and energy infrastructure. Chapter 74 of the IRWA was founded in 1985 and is comprised of appraisers, attorneys, right of way specialists, and TxDOT employees in Austin, Texas area.

This is the second year that Lochner has been recognized by the IRWA; in 2016 the firm was awarded Employer of the Year by Chapter 74.
