Derek Schwanke Joins Lochner as North Texas Water Practice Manager

We’re pleased to welcome Derek Schwanke, PE as North Texas Water Practice Manager, marking the expansion of our water practice into the North Texas region! With 16 years of experience, Derek has focused on designing and managing water and wastewater utility projects for public entities across Texas, including the Trinity River Authority, North Texas Municipal Water District, and the City of Fort Worth.

Derek’s technical expertise covers all aspects of large-diameter pipeline design from preliminary engineering through commissioning, including permitting, land rights acquisition, bypass pumping, meter station and storage tank design, and multiple construction methodologies. He has experience developing rehabilitation and design programs to reduce the flow of storm- and groundwater into wastewater collection systems, and has managed programs involving flow monitoring, condition assessments, hydraulic modeling, master planning, and meter station investigations.

In his role at Lochner, Derek will build upon his background with the North Texas water market to grow existing client relationships, cultivate new partnerships, and identify opportunities to expand the firm’s presence in the region. We’re excited to see the contributions Derek will make to our team and the North Texas community!
