Lochner Celebrates the Reopening of Runway 18-36 at Chinle Municipal Airport

We are excited to announce the reopening of Runway 18-36 at Chinle Municipal Airport following a comprehensive reconstruction project. Located in Chinle, Arizona, in Apache County, this airport is one of five National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems (NPIAS) facilities owned and operated by the Navajo Nation. It plays a crucial role in providing air medevac services to remote communities.

After securing necessary funding, this project was completed on schedule and under budget. It involved a thorough reconstruction of deteriorating pavement conditions, addressing important safety concerns for airport users. To celebrate the successful reopening of the runway, Lochner’s Jason Musselman, PE, recently joined Navajo community leaders at a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
