America’s Transportation Award Finalists

Lochner worked on three projects (Idaho’s GARVEE Program, Connecticut’s Pearl Harbor (“Q”) Memorial Bridge, and Washington’s SR 520 Eastside Transit & HOV Design-Build) that are AASHTO 2016 America’s Transportation Awards Top 12 finalists.

This year, 84 projects were submitted for consideration and 29 of them won awards across four geographic regions. The Top 12 list represents the very best based on scores assigned to them by a panel of judges representing the transportation industry. This same panel will select the winner of the Grand Prize and you and the rest of America will select the People’s Choice Award.

The Grand Prize and People’s Choice award winners will be announced at this year’s AASHTO annual conference on Monday, November 14th in Boston.

Lochner provided planning, design and construction support for the Ten Mile Interchange, Idaho’s first single-point urban interchange (SPUI), as part of the GARVEE Program. The project is a finalist in AASHTO’s Under Budget – Western U.S., Large Project category. Click here for more information regarding the nomination.

Lochner was the lead designer for the SR 520 Eastside Transit & HOV Design-Build project in Washington which is a finalist in AASHTO’s Quality of Life / Community Development – Western U.S., Large Project category. Click here for more information regarding the nomination.

Lochner provided construction engineering and inspection for replacement of the Pearl Harbor (“Q”) Memorial Bridge, the first vehicular extradosed cable-stayed bridge in the U.S. The project is a finalist in AASHTO’s Best Use of Innovation – Northeast, Large Project category.
