Roy Bruce, PE

Director of Corporate Services

Roy Bruce joined Lochner as an entry-level engineer in 1977, shortly after earning B.S. and M.S. degrees in Civil Engineering from Purdue University. Since that time, he has served in various roles, including project manager, office manager, regional team leader, chief engineer for the firm, executive committee member, board of directors member, and, most recently, director of corporate services. “The first person I worked for at Lochner gave me some sound advice and it has stayed with me my whole life. It was, don’t let your education stand in the way of your career. His point was that you are going to be presented with various opportunities throughout your career. If you limit yourself to exactly what you studied in school, including all of the other boundaries that you put on yourself, then you will likely hinder your career. You need to be more focused on your career and what that involves rather than just your training. Having a career focus helps you to be a lifelong learner.”

“There is something different about Lochner – it is the people who work here and the commitment they bring to providing high-quality services for our clients. Our people truly listen to client needs and come up with tailored ways to address them, confirming their commitment to service.”
